Business operations undergoing at China Square shopping mall resumes after the government of Kenya and Chinese business persons mutually came into agreement.

This comes a few days after the one stop shop located in Unicity mall promptly got closed following lamentations and protests by the Kenyan small-scale traders over business takeover.

Following a series of consultations and negotiations, the Kenya-China Chamber of Commerce finally accepted to swallow the idea proposed by the Kenyan Government to allow the Chinese traders to resume operations.

We welcome the good news on the resumption of operations of China Square. This follows several engagements between the Kenya Government and the Chinese Community in Kenya to reach an amicable solution to the stalemate.” Read in the statement of China Square management.

The Kenya-China Chamber of Commerce also maintained in their statement that Chinese has always been giving hands in the growth of this country’s economy.

As a result, Chinese businesses given more rooms to operate within the country, will create several employment opportunities to the people of Kenya as well as contributing to Kenya’s tax revenue.

Since the opening of China Square in January 9, there has been a lot of commodity exchange ongoing in the premise making products like clothes, electronics, and household items available and affordable to native buyers.

The business is legally owned by a Chinese investor going by the name Lei Cheng
