Man of God, the Archbishop of Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) Jackson Ole Sapit has called upon the people of Kenya to stand out against recent Supreme Court verdict that allows Queer Community to freely associate.
Earlier, he came out in black and white dusting the supreme court ruling and now, the famous Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit is reiterating his firmness concerning the issue.
While being interviewed by Citizen TV, the man of God asked Kenyans to beware of erosion of this country’s moral standards while also insisting that same sex association endangers the biblical values.
He questioned a lot about LGBTQ community, asking the government to thoroughly scrutinize any form of association seeking for approval and registration.
“If it is still criminal in the laws of Kenya, then why register an organisation whose abbreviations say they are defined by that which is criminal?” the clergyman asked.
While pointing on the possible threats that gay registration can impose to this generation, Ole Sapit foresaw an upcoming efforts to change the values in Kenyan society should Supreme Court recent ruling be upheld.
“I’m asking our judicial system, ‘why are we doing it?’ What we have seen in the West is that they [LGBTQ+ community] will anchor themselves in the law so that when they are recognized as an association the next fight will be, ‘remove the criminality in what we do because we are allowed to associate’.
The clergyman also warned Kenyans about the dangers to the church that are likely to come along with freedom of association among Queer groups.
“Then the next one will be, ‘we don’t want to be discriminated’ and then they will come to the church and say they’d like to be ordained as Bishop ‘because if you don’t, you’re discriminating against me’. We can see that progression coming,” the Archbishop outlined.
Eventually, he maintained his stand, still calling for the Supreme Court ruling to be reversed by whatever means available.
