Steve Chege, a former Laikipia senatorial candidate, has died in

Ndungu Nyoro, a philanthropist and activist, had spread the news of the disaster.

Taking to social media, he captioned

“Mr. Steve Chege, I’ve never met you before. But I see your enthusiasm and drive on this stage. I applaud all you accomplish as a young Kenyan. Because of your voice, our country is a better place. I’ve discovered you’re in the hospital. I apologize for the mishap. I hope you’re able to leave soon. This country requires you, Sir. Win my brother’s favor. Win.”

Nyoro updated his fans, asking Kenyans to go and donate blood for Steve.

“Our sibling is in desperate need of blood.

Hon. Steve Chege, Senator for Laikipia County, is in need of blood donations after being hospitalised to Kenyatta University Referral Hospital.

Donors of all blood kinds are accepted. For additional information, please contact Geraldine Muiruri at 0712121500 or Kirika Githaiga. Please pray for our brother.”

In a separate post, Nyoro revealed that the lawmaker had died as a result of his injuries.

The news was communicated by a man named Kirika Githaiga, who had been designated as a contact for individuals interested in donating blood to Steve.
