Raila Odinga Calls for National Unity to Address Kenya’s Law and Order Crisis

ODM leader Raila Odinga has called for a national convention to tackle the escalating crisis of law and order in Kenya. His appeal comes in the wake of weeks marked by violent protests, widespread property destruction, and allegations of police brutality.

Speaking passionately about the state of the nation, Raila condemned both the destructive actions witnessed during the protests and the excessive use of force by law enforcement. He warned that the nation is teetering on the edge of dangerous lawlessness, emphasizing the urgent need for collective action to restore order and justice.

Raila proposed the establishment of a national convention, bringing together diverse stakeholders to deliberate on the critical issues of law, order, civil responsibility, and justice. He underscored that a unified and sober approach is vital to addressing these challenges and preventing further chaos.

He said the time has come for people of Kenya as a nation to engage in an honest and inclusive dialogue, calling on all Kenyans to prioritize peace and justice over division and violence.

With tensions running high, Raila’s proposal for a national convention offers a beacon of hope for many seeking a path toward stability and unity in the country.
