Public Dual-Carriageway Connecting Kenol Town And Kambiti—KENHA

Now that Kenol town in Murang’a County and Kambiti are connected by a dual highway, drivers traveling the Kenol- Sagana- Marua- Nyeri route can do so.

In an effort to reduce traffic, the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) tweeted Wednesday that the route is now available to the public.

“During the holiday season, the dual carriageway section between Kenol town and Kambiti has been made available to traffic. In preparation for the anticipated high volume of traffic during this time, this action aims to improve traffic flow, according to KeNHA.

In order to respect the rights of other road users, motorists have been reminded to obey traffic laws.

On the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway, several motorists were yesterday trapped due to a traffic jam between Gilgil town and the rail over road bridge.

The Authority had warned of potential traffic jams on major routes on Friday.

As people travel for the holidays, there is a traffic buildup between Gilgil town and the rail over road bridge, KeNHA stated in a statement advising drivers using or planning to use the Nairobi to Nakuru (A8) Highway.

As many people travel upcountry for Christmas celebrations, Kenyans resorted to social media over the weekend to vent their plight of being stranded on the road for hours.
