Nairobi Police Officer Investigated After Woman Falls from Sixth Floor

A senior police officer faces intense public scrutiny following a violent domestic dispute where she allegedly pushed her romantic partner from a sixth-floor apartment balcony in Nairobi. The suspect, Agnes Muthigani Ndanu, an Officer Commanding Station attached to the KICC, allegedly threw 25-year-old Nicole Omondi from the residential building during a major domestic altercation on June 4, 2026.

The specific incident occurred at Father’s Hub Apartments within Thome Estate, located in the expansive Kasarani sub-county. According to emergency medical responders, Omondi miraculously survived the six-story plunge because she landed directly on an iron sheet roof and sharp razor wire coils.

Paramedics rushed her to Kenyatta National Hospital, where she currently remains admitted with a fractured spine and permanent paralysis from the waist down. Before the tragic fall, Omondi placed a frantic distress call to her father, crying that Ndanu was actively assaulting her inside the apartment.

Relatives stated that when the father attempted to call back, the suspect answered the phone and declared she was disciplining Omondi before abruptly disconnecting the call. Neighbors reported hearing loud screams and shattering glass, and crime scene investigators later discovered fresh bloodstains and broken liquor bottles inside the room.

The total lack of an immediate arrest has triggered widespread public outrage across Kenya, with community members openly accusing local authorities of protecting their influential colleague. Relatives claimed that responding officers initially shielded Ndanu from an angry crowd at the scene.

“We demand a swift, transparent, and completely impartial investigation because our daughter did not fall by accident,” stated Annette Omondi, the victim’s sister. The Kasarani sub-county police command confirmed that detectives have launched active investigations into attempted homicide.

Local police units initially stated that the Independent Policing Oversight Authority must handle cases involving law enforcement officers. However, the oversight body noted that regional detectives are gathering forensic evidence while awaiting a formal statement from the victim.Public pressure continues to build under intense social media campaigns demanding immediate accountability for the ranking officer.

The Independent Policing Oversight Authority plans to thoroughly review the final case file to determine if the state will press formal criminal charges against Ndanu. Meanwhile, medical doctors at Kenyatta National Hospital are constantly monitoring the victim ahead of specialized spinal surgeries, while justice advocates maintain a strict oversight on progress.
