DPP Haji Makes Significant Changes By Moving 120 Prosecutors

Changes made public on December 22 included the appointment of new prosecutors at 119 stations by Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji. By sending information officers to other districts to aid in the spread of information, he also improved the communication department within his office.

According to Haji, the adjustments were made in compliance with the prosecutions and transfer policy to improve service delivery efficiency and effectiveness.

Magdalene Ngalyuka was appointed by the DPP as regional head for Western, Peter Kiprop for Coast, Ahmed Hassan for North and South Rift, and Joseph Kimathi was transferred to the Appeals Division.

Tom Ogweno was promoted to head of the complaints and compliments section, replacing Christine Gakobo as deputy director of the prosecutions training institute, Mercy Wanjiru as head of the anti-corruption division, and Christine Nanjala as deputy head of internal quality assurance (judicial review and human rights division).

Alexander Yamina, the deputy regional head for Coast, Lilian Gichuhi, the head of Siaya, Joel Chirchir, the head of Nyamira, Felister Njeru, the head of Tharaka Nithi, Bonny Okemwa, the head of Taita Taveta, Jackson Motende, the head of Machakos, Maari Jane Kemunto, the head of Kirinyaga, Brian Ayodo, the head of Ki (head of Marsabit).

He listed Bernard Kipkemoi, Tito Wanga, Patrick Onjoro, Peter Kimayo, Vivian Kambaga, Esther Wambui, Claire Kosgei, William Ochieng, and Patrick Onjoro as the leaders of the Kitui, Migori, Samburu, Mandera, and Lamu, respectively (head of Isiolo).

Charles Okeyo was transferred to Nairobi County, along with the Appeals Division, Job Wamoyo (JKIA), Evans Gitonga (homicide division), Solomon Wabomba (Nyeri), Mary Nyambura (Githongo in Meru), Beatrice Muthoni (Kiambu), Lazarus Kipkosgei (Kakamega), Georgina Wangari (Central case intake), Gladys Kariuki (lands division), Festus Njeru (Kisumu).

The following individuals were also transferred: Peris Gathu (Kenol), Winnie Atieno (Kilifi), Judith Nyanga (Milimani law courts), Allen Mulama (Homicide division), Stephen Cheboi (Elgeyo Marakwet), Desmond Majale (City Court), James Ngunju (Moyale), Bidan Kihara (Dadaab), Christine Mueni (Embu), Pauline Karimi ( (Kisumu).

Nancy Ogere (Machakos), Patrick Makona (Narok), Samson Ngetich (Kibera), Kofa Ade (Milimani), and Judy Gakii are more participants. Rachael Kanyasi (Homabay), Peninah Wanjiku (Kilgoris), Anderson Mwiti (Laikipia), Nelly Maingi (Molo), Betty Kiplagat (Wajir), and Noah Ongige (Naivasha).

The regional communication officers are John Njiru (at the headquarters and in the lower eastern area), Camilus Kipsang (in Kisumu and the western region), Bocha Galgalo (in the coast and in the northeast), Rajab Said (in Nairobi), and Jacinta Wairimu (Nakuru and north rift region).

Almost a dozen officials were sent to regional offices by the DPP, which also bolstered its ICT branch. The majority of the services provided by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions are now provided via ICT.
