Nigerian artist, Ice Zamani Arrested For Police Officer Assault

Nigerian rapper and hip-hop artist, Ice Prince Zamani was arrested on Friday morning and is set to be arraigned in court today for allegedly assaulting a police officer.

According to incumbent Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, Zamani was nabbed by traffic police at 3am today for driving without license plates. He agreed to be taken to the station, only later to abduct the officer in his car, assaulted him and even threatened to throw him in a river.

“Any person who assaults, resists or wilfully obstructs a police officer while acting in the execution of his/her duty or any person acting in aid of a police officer while so acting is guilty of a felony and is liable to imprisonment for three years. Benjamin quoted Nigeria Constitution law number 356 on serious assaults.
