President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda arrived in Kenya on May 16, 2024, for a three-day state visit at the invitation of President William Ruto.
The visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, focusing on mutual growth, development, and prosperity. During his stay, President Museveni is expected to engage in high-level discussions with President Ruto and other Kenyan government officials.
The visit follows the successful conclusion of the Second Session of the Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) between Uganda and Kenya, where seven Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed in areas such as diplomatic training, public service management, education, SMEs development, sports, youth affairs, trade, and investments.
According to a source from the statehouse, the visit is seen as a significant step towards promoting cooperation and addressing various issues, including security and economic matters, to benefit both nations.
