Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has told Kenyans they must follow what the leaders tell them.
According to president William Ruto, SHA is being brought in to replace NHIF, which means National Health Insurance Fund, which has been in existence for the longest time. Ruto has highlighted how SHA will finish all the challenges that NHIF has failed to do, which include corruption and delayed release of funds to the sick.
But why is it that many Kenyans are still reluctant and unconvinced to register for SHA? Many Kenyans believe that the push for the registration is just another scandal in the making and a plot to steal public money. Many Kenyans have expressed their disappointment with the decisions the president has been making since he took charge in 2022 through their social media pages.
However, Oscar Sudi, who has been defending Ruto, has said people do not understand the SHA move, as Kenyans do not fully understand it. “Many people are criticising SHA, but they don’t understand what Kenyans are going through. We are the ones who participate in harambees to take people to hospitals, so we know what we are talking about. Kenyans elected us to represent them, and they should follow what we say. If it fails, then they have the right to chase us out of office.” He said.
