President Ruto Makes Key Parastatal and University Council Appointments

President William Ruto has made a series of appointments and reappointments to various boards and university councils across the country, with most set to serve for a three-year term.

Alvin Habwe Wetangula has been reappointed to the Board of Directors of the Kenya Railways Corporation, while Dr. Musangi has been named the non-executive Chairperson of the Council of Garissa University. Professor Stanley Khainga takes over as the non-executive Chairperson of the Council of Kaimosi Friends University College.

In the education sector, Habat Sheikh Abdi has been reappointed as the non-executive Chairperson of the Council of the Kenya Institute of Special Education.

At the Coast Water Works Development Agency, Hafswa Abdalla Dele, Judith Wabosha Mwamburi, and Mohamed Masoud Mwahima have all been reappointed as board members.

Charles Kamau Karondo will chair the Board of Directors of the Communications Authority, while Mary Wambui has been appointed as the chairperson of the Athi Water Works Development Agency.

In the disaster management sector, Shallow Abdullahi Yahya retains her position as the non-executive Chairperson of the National Drought Management Authority (NDMA).

These appointments are part of the President’s latest round of leadership changes in key state corporations and institutions.
