The People’s Liberation Party leader, Martha Karua, has dismissed any possibility of working with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga again, citing his indecisiveness about his political stance.
Speaking on KTN News, Karua criticized Odinga’s engagement with the Kenya Kwanza administration, stating that his actions were legally untenable. She argued that Odinga needed to clarify whether he was joining President William Ruto’s government formally or remaining in the opposition.
“Right now, Raila has one leg in government and one in the opposition; it is untenable and against the law,” Karua stated.
She emphasized that the opposition would not tolerate Odinga’s informal collaboration with the government, calling on him to either form a post-election coalition with Ruto or fully commit to the opposition.
Karua further insisted on formalizing any political agreements, warning that the opposition would take necessary steps to challenge what she termed as an “illegal cohabitation” between Odinga and the Ruto administration.
“We must ensure that this unconstitutional arrangement is terminated and that any political marriage is properly formalized,” she declared.
Karua’s remarks come as Odinga prepares to announce his political future after concluding a two-week nationwide consultative forum.
During his final meeting in Nairobi, Odinga urged the government to address pressing national issues, including the Social Health Authority (SHA) challenges. Additionally, in Wajir, he ruled out any alliance with Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua ahead of the 2027 elections.
Odinga’s much-anticipated decision could reshape Kenya’s political landscape as the country gears up for the next election cycle.
