Marco Joseph, the lead vocalist of the Tanzanian gospel group Zabron Singers, has passed away while receiving treatment for a heart condition at the Jakaya Kikwete Heart Institute in Dar es Salaam.
According to his family, the vocalist succumbed today after suffering a heart attack at the hospital. Marco was a beloved member of Zabron Singers, a popular music group known for their hit songs like “Mkono wa Bwana” and “Sweetie Sweetie.”
Marco will be remembered for his role as lead vocalist and as a contributing member of the group. Fans were deeply saddened, sharing their condolences online and on popular radio platforms across East Africa.
Among the artists who mourned the vocalist was Christina Shusho, who stated that Marco’s death has robbed the world of a young talent, and words cannot describe how she feels.
“Words cannot express how deeply this has touched me. Marco was full of life. I worked with him on the ‘Msaada Wangu’ song. His sudden passing is a blow not only to his Zabron Singers family but to the Gospel Nation at large,” wrote Shusho.
