KUPPET Targets Young, Visionary Leaders to Spearhead Change

The Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) campaigns have once again sparked excitement as members gear up for the upcoming union elections. Several aspirants have already thrown their weight into the race.

In a seemingly renewed vigor, Nicholas Rogony, one of the aspirants for organizing secretary, continues to flex his political muscles within KUPPET by uniting Narok South and consolidating votes into a single, strong bloc.

While addressing teachers at the newly elevated St. Rita Tendwet Secondary School, Rogony urged members to remain united and resilient in order to bring quality union services closer to the teaching fraternity. He emphasized that the Narok KUPPET branch leadership should reflect regional and ethnic balance in the distribution of opportunities.

Flanked by Vice Chair aspirant Bush and Gender Representative aspirant Daizy (D4G), Rogony pledged to foster positive relationships with other sub-counties. He expressed confidence that Narok South, being the largest in terms of voter numbers, stands to benefit immensely in the upcoming elections.

He also called on JSS and secondary school teachers to stay united, underscoring that leadership is about inclusive and fair representation.

Rogony expressed heartfelt gratitude to Narok South teachers for their unwavering support, encouragement, and prayers. He acknowledged the many challenges they face, including impassable roads, lack of electricity connectivity, and low motivation. He expressed hope that the recently proposed government hardship allowance would soon be implemented to cushion teachers in the region.

He highlighted several issues affecting academic performance, such as teenage pregnancies, chronic absenteeism, and uncooperative parents. He also pointed out that school administrators have faced numerous challenges during the KCSE period, particularly having to trek long distances to collect and return examination materials. With the recent creation of the Amalo sub-county, he expressed optimism that things may begin to improve.

In his final remarks, Rogony appealed for support in his bid to run for the position of organizing secretary. He noted that he has been in charge of transport logistics for the past ten years, and if given the mandate, he is confident he will deliver exceptional results.
