Kenyan Political Parties Share Ksh1.03 Billion Allocation from Registrar

Kenya’s Registrar of Political Parties, Ann Nderitu, has announced the distribution of Political Parties Fund (PPF) allocations, amounting to Ksh1.03 billion, to various registered political parties. The funds are intended to support their operations and enhance democratic processes.

Leading the distribution, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) will receive the largest allocation of Ksh480,290,411. Following closely is the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), which has been allocated Ksh256,558,712.

Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party is set to receive Ksh112,530,209, while Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper Party will benefit from Ksh60,101,143.

Among other recipients, Eugene Wamalwa’s Democratic Action Party-Kenya (DAP-K) will get Ksh26,333,970, and the United Democratic Movement (UDM) will receive Ksh22,372,524. FORD-Kenya has been allocated Ksh21,520,978, while Gideon Moi’s Kenya National African Union (KANU) will receive Ksh20,005,804.

Smaller parties were also included in the allocation: Devolution Empowerment Party received Ksh11,467,211, Maendeleo Chap Chap Party (MCCP) got Ksh10,546,046, Movement for Democracy and Growth Party (MDG) got Ksh8,157,856, Martha Karua’s People’s Liberation Party (PLP) on the other hand, received Ksh6,290,464, Tujibebe Wakenya Party got Ksh6,309,362 while Chama Cha Kazi received Ksh5,436,935

This distribution emphasizes Kenya’s commitment to fostering a vibrant multi-party democracy by ensuring financial support for political activities across the spectrum.
