The government, via the Ministry of Health has reaffirmed its commitment to advance the effectiveness of health sector in the country. With this move, the government is aiming to provide better health services to every Kenyan.
Cabinet Secretary for Health, Dr. Deborah Mlongo Barasa, today chaired a strategic meeting focused on discussing ways to improve the implementation of Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
The meeting covered key areas including the strengthening of Primary Health Care, organizing consultative clinics with healthcare service providers, improving the availability of medical commodities, and enhancing monitoring and evaluation systems.

The discussions also centred around the significance of capacity building for human resources for health, continued support for Community Health Promoters, and awareness creation to ensure citizens are informed and empowered to access quality health services.
During the meeting, the CS emphasized on the need for the ministry to create awareness on the benefits of SHA registration, as a way to achieve the UHC goal.
Dr. Barasa also reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to delivering accessible, equitable, and effective healthcare for all Kenyans.
