Edwin Sifuna Calls out Treasury CS John Mbadi For Failing To Appear Before the Senate

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has criticized Treasury CS John Mbadi for failing to appear before the Senate committee on finance and economic planning.

While debating in the Senate chambers, Sifuna expressed his disappointment, stating that John Mbadi has begun to exhibit traits typical of Kenya Kwanza CSs, such as absconding from Senate appearances and failing to respect members of Parliament.

“I don’t know what Kenya Kwanza has done to John Mbadi. It’s barely two weeks, and he has started behaving like a Kenya Kwanza CS. We must not tolerate this behavior of CSs absconding from appearances. We must call out John Mbadi,” Sifuna said.

John Mbadi wrote to the Senate, stating that he would not attend the hearing due to a critical meeting that requires his physical presence and attention.

The letter angered the Senate committee, which asserted that the CS must prioritize Senate matters over State House affairs.
