The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) has started a multi-billion project aiming to bolster internet connectivity across 19 counties in the country. By installing fibre optic cables covering 2,500 kilometres, the CA is looking forward to creating a reliable internet connectivity within the rural areas where access to internet is oftentimes limited or non-existing in totality.

While emphasizing on the significance of broadband internet access in the marginalized areas across the 19 counties countrywide, the CA Director General David Mugonyi clarified that the Authority has succeeded in executing half of the entire project which is worth Ksh.5 billion.
