The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has sold five properties linked to former Migori Governor Okoth Obado, realizing a total of KSh69,705,000. The properties were part of assets seized from the former county boss in connection with corruption investigations.
According to EACC, the properties sold include a three-bedroom apartment at Riara, Nairobi, which fetched KSh14 million, and a townhouse in Loresho Ridge Estate that sold for KSh31 million. Both properties were registered under individuals associated with the former governor.
In Greenspan Estate, three additional properties were auctioned. A three-bedroom apartment sold for KSh6,950,000, a two-bedroom apartment for KSh6,755,000, and a maisonette for KSh11 million. These sales brought the total amount realized from the five properties to KSh69,705,000.
The anti-graft agency noted that the remaining properties, located in Kisumu and Migori counties, will be auctioned on Thursday, October 16, 2025. Members of the public have been invited to participate in the exercise, which will be conducted through approved auctioneers.
EACC has engaged Galaxy Auctioneers, Keysian Auctioneers, and Astorion Auctioneers to handle the upcoming auctions on its behalf. The process aims to recover assets suspected to have been acquired unlawfully.
