CS Mithika Linturi Assures Commitment To Make Farming Profitable After Opening Kitale Show.

Mithika Linturi, the cabinet secretary for Agriculture, has pledged to increase productivity and make farming a profitable endeavor in order to improve food security.

The CS spoke on Saturday at the North Rift National Agricultural Show’s inauguration in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County, during his first official event.

In order to increase food production, he praised a number of agricultural enterprises, notably Kenya Seed Company (KSC), and he asked Kenyans to work with the Kenya Kwanza government.

He claimed that if Kenyans cooperated with the government, the problem of food security would be solved. The Kenya Kwanza government, he claimed, is devoted to helping farmers increase their output through more inexpensive agriculture inputs and lower fertilizer prices.

As the government puts policies in place to address food costs, he urged Kenyans to join the trip and exercise patience. “Kenya is advancing toward achieving food security, and I am requesting that the populace join us in achieving this goal. I’ll try my best to work with devolved units to help farmers get access to inexpensive farm supplies like seeds and fertilizer “”Linturi” remarked.
