Following the trial judge’s transfer, the Kianjakoma murder case, which was scheduled to continue for hearing today, has been postponed until an undetermined date.
Judge Daniel Ogembo was hearing the case, but despite it being listed in his court today, nothing further happened because of his transfer. Six police officers have been accused of killing Benson and Emmanuel Ndwiga in the case: Benson Mputhia, Consolata Kariuki, Nicholas Cheruyoit, Martin Wanyama, Lilian Chemuna, and James Mwaniki.
Other witnesses were due to speak today after the court had already heard testimony from two of the brother’s pals and their parents. The court will give the defendants additional dates on notice so they can appear for mention, the accused were advised.
The parents of the deceased boys sobbed as they described to the court in November of last year how they learned that their sons had been killed by police in 2021. The court was informed by John Ndwiga and Catherine Gichuki about the final phone conversations they had with the deceased before they were discovered dead.
The lads, according to their father, were excellent and had never slept away from home from the day they were born. They were lovely boys who put forth a lot of effort, according to Ndwiga.
