A 40-Year Old Bomet Man Sentenced to 150 Years in Prison for Killing Own 3-Children

Bomet High Court has found a 40-year-old man guilty of killing his three children, sentencing him to 150 years in prison. The man, identified as Bernard Kipkemoi Kirui committed the crime in 2019 in the Lelaitich area, Bomet county.

While giving out the sentence on Monday, Justice Julius Kipkosgei Ng’arng’ar passed the judgement with each case running for 50 years consecutively, summing to 150 years.

Justice Ng’arng’ar in his ruling, said Mr. Kirui’s action that saw life out of his 3-sons; sons Amos Kipngetich (12), Vincent Kiprotich (8) and Emanuel Kipronoh (5yrs) while their mother was away from home was heinous and inhuman adding that the judgement seeks to serve as a better example to individuals who perpetrate to commit a similar crime.

The mother of the 3-sons, Sharon Cherono, expressed gratitude for the court terming the judgement as just and fair. However, he stated that Kirui has 14 days to appeal the sentence.
