A viral video of Catholic priests blessing Quiver Lounge at Kenol has become an online sensation after sparking mixed reactions from netizens.
Quiver Lounge owner Mr Peter Mbugua had set the record straight in regard to the viral video where the catholic priests blessed the business premises with Holy water.
Through a statement, Mr Mbugua defended the blessing of his nightclub operator business, saying the priests were invited to bless the Mall and since Quiver Lounge was among the various businesses in the new Murang’a mall ,it was also dedicated in the process alongside other businesses.
“As you’ve already been told, the mall in which Quiver Lounge sits, was being dedicated to God as any business person would as he embarks on a new business challenge. While Quiver Lounge is a nightspot, it also enjoyed the blessings from the priests since it’s also part of the many businesses the Murang’a mall hosts.”He said.
The club owner went on to distance himself from actively being involved in the invitation of the priests for the dedication ceremony but said that he is happy it was dedicated in the process since God’s protection is paramount in that line of business.
“This is a business like any other. There are a lot of risks in nightclubs – people can be stabbed to death with bottles, there are knives involved, fires in the kitchens, and stampedes too. We always ask God to protect us from hazards and we also channel a lot of our profits to the Church. I don’t see any controversy in asking men of God to bless a new nightclub.” He said.
