Airtel Uganda Invites Bids for Sale of Telecom and Administrative Assets

Airtel Uganda Limited has opened a sealed bidding process for the sale of various telecom and administrative materials. The disposal gives interested buyers an opportunity to acquire the items, although they will be sold on an “as is, where is” basis.

The company said the materials have already been used for their intended purposes, and therefore bidders will not receive guarantees on their condition or suitability.

“All items are offered for sale on an ‘AS IS, WHERE IS’ basis,” the notice stated. Airtel Uganda also said it provides no express or implied guarantees regarding the condition, quality or fitness of the items.

Interested bidders must submit their offers in sealed envelopes at Airtel Uganda’s Head Office on Clement Hill Road in Kampala. The envelopes should be clearly marked “DISPOSAL SCM/OCT 2026”, while the submission deadline is Monday, October 12, 2026, at 4pm.

However, bidders seeking the detailed disposal list must first pay a non-refundable tender fee of UGX 200,000. The payment must be made through the bank before October 12 at noon.

Airtel Uganda has also opened its warehouse in Namanve for inspection of the items. Viewing will run from October 5 to October 12, on weekdays between 9am and 4pm. Each company can send a maximum of two representatives, and they must carry the original payment receipt and valid identification.

Successful bidders will also face additional payment requirements. They must pay a non-refundable commitment fee equivalent to 10 per cent of their bid price within 24 hours of receiving notification.

“The balance of the purchase price must be settled in CASH (Uganda Shillings) prior to the collection of goods,” the notice stated.

Airtel Uganda further warned that failure to pay the commitment fee within the required period will result in the bid being revoked.

The company also reserves the right to accept or reject any bid or cancel the disposal process without giving a reason. The sale therefore places the responsibility of inspecting and assessing the materials on prospective buyers before they submit their bids.
