Allies of Raila Odinga Support President’s Economic Reforms

Former allies of Raila Odinga, the leader of Azimio la Umoja, are urging Kenyans to give President William Ruto time to implement necessary economic reforms. Led by former Nyatike lawmaker Omondi Anyanga, these leaders emphasize the importance of careful balancing when addressing the current state of the economy.

Mr. Anyanga acknowledges that some of the interventions proposed by the Kenya Kwanza administration may cause temporary discomfort but believes they will ultimately lead to a strong economic revival. He recognizes the concerns regarding the high cost of living and the overall state of the economy, emphasizing that resolving these delicate economic issues cannot be achieved overnight.

According to Anyanga, lifting the country out of the current economic slump requires personal sacrifice. He highlights the key proposals outlined in the Finance Bill 2023 as potential solutions to the economic challenges facing the nation. Anyanga calls on Kenyans to support the president in creating a new Kenya full of promise.

These statements were made during a press conference in Embu on Thursday, coinciding with the 60th Madaraka Day celebrations attended by President Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua.
