Diocese Of Nyeri Ordains The First Blind Catholic Priest

On Saturday, the Nyeri Catholic Diocese ordained Kenya’s first blind priest. Archbishop Anthony Muheria ordained Deacon Michael Mithamo King’ori.

“Jubilation and thanksgiving to God as the Catholic Church in Kenya witnesses the extraordinary ordination to the priesthood of the first blind priest, Rev Deacon Michael Mithamo King’ori of the Catholic Archdiocese of Nyeri,” Radio Maria reported.

“His is a story about how “with God, anything is possible.” Congratulations to Fr Michael Mithamo and thanks to Most Rev Anthony Muheria for bestowing such a grace fete.”

Deacon Mithamo was employed by the Catholic Archdiocese of Nyeri. Along with other priests, he received his ordination. This occurs following Sister Maria Carola’s beatification on November 5, 2022, in Meru. Pope Francis gave the go-ahead for the beatification announcement in December 2021.
