Ruto Asked By Community To Transform Campus To University

The Chuka University Igembe Campus in Meru is currently under pressure from the Igembe community to become a university college.

Dorcas Isusta, interim vice chancellor of Chuka University, praised the residents of Igembe for contributing 70 acres of land for the expansion of the campus and noted that the university had expanded its reach with a number of campuses in various counties.

According to Prof. Isutsa, the institution is in the process of obtaining the title deed to the 70 acres of property that the community has contributed. Isutsa claimed that by educating and graduating students, the campus had advanced.

The campus at Kiegoi is one of several Chuka University campuses spread over the counties of Tharaka Nithi, Meru, and Embu. The campus’s director, Prof. John Kobia, pleaded with President William Ruto for assistance.
