Former Murang’a Woman Representative and nominated Member of Parliament Sabina Chege has lamented about her lost expensive phone during Thursday’s disarrayed parliamentary sitting that saw her suspended alongside six other lawmakers.
During her speech in the inaugural coffee conference in Meru county on Friday June 9,the Minority Deputy Whip addressed the drama as she pleaded to have her phone back. Mrs. Chege also sought refuge from the deputy president Mr. Rigathi Gachagua, asking for his intervention to hasten any possibilities of a solution.
“Apart from beating me, they proceeded to steal my phone. It is an iPhone 14, and your Excellency our DP Rigathi Gachagua, I request for your intervention and support so that I can recover the phone. Those who stole the phone, please hand it back to me,” Mrs. Chege said.
The tussle in Parliament ensued following a standoff between Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition and Kenya Kwanza legislators over azimio’s attempt to remove Ms Chege as the Deputy Minority Whip. Ms Chege, was nominated to Parliament on a Jubilee Party ticket after last year’s General Election but has since switched loyalty to Kenya Kwanza.
