The Late Magoha’s Son Struggles With Tears And Emotions As He Pays Tribute To His Father

The Consolata Shrine in Nairobi County hosted the funeral liturgy for the late Professor George Magoha on February 9, 2023. Former Cabinet Secretary without a portfolio and the relative of the late Professor Magoha, Raphael Tuju, emceed the event.

The sole child of the late Professor Magoha, Dr. Michael Magoha, spoke at the gathering. Momentarily overcome with emotion as he addressed the assembly, he fought back tears as he spoke about his father. Even though Dr. Michael thought it odd to summarize his father’s entire life in a 15-minute homage, he made the decision to be sincere and speak from the heart.

Dr. Michael would halt several times during his homage to gather himself, reassuring the audience that he was fine and would continue. He thought back on the challenging task of discussing his father with the many audiences he was speaking to. He understood that the only one who could speak about his father was him, and that being his son was a position for which he didn’t have to apply.

Dr. Michael talked on his father’s accomplishments and societal contributions while also sharing memories of his father. He talked about how much his father loved his family and how he never placed himself first. He also spoke about his father’s passion for learning and his lifelong commitment to assisting others in achieving their goals.

The funeral liturgy honored Professor Magoha’s life and the influence he made on those who knew him. The occasion served as proof of the adoration and love that the late Professor Magoha inspired in those who knew him. The speeches and honors paid to him served as a reminder of his legacy and the beneficial influence he had on the world.

Families, close friends, and coworkers of the late Professor Magoha came to the service to pay their respects and express their condolences.
