Spiro Kenya has launched a mega swap station located at Bishan Plaza in Westlands, the Mega Battery Swap Station has been built with significant surplus capacity to support Nairobi’s rapidly growing electric mobility ecosystem. With the ability to house and simultaneously charge more than 200 batteries, the facility is strategically positioned to meet current demand while creating capacity for the continued expansion of electric motorcycles across the city.
Operating around the clock, the station ensures riders have continuous access to fully charged batteries whenever they need them. Situated in one of Nairobi’s busiest commercial districts, the facility serves a large rider community, providing the confidence that reliable energy isalways within reach. This enhanced availability helps reduce downtime, supports higher daily earnings, and enables riders to keep moving throughout the day.

Speaking during the launch, Spiro Kenya Country Head, Vishal Mittal said, “For riders, reliability is everything. Our Mega Station has been designed to ensure that fully charged batteries are always available, day or night, in one of Nairobi’s busiest rider hubs. With amplesurplus capacity to support future demand, this investment gives riders peace of mind, minimizes downtime and enables them to focus on earning more and serving their customerswithout interruption.”Spiro’s Head of Energy Network, Amit Rao said the launch of Bishan Mega Station reflects
Spiro’s global strategy of building robust, high-capacity energy infrastructure that can accelerate the adoption of electric mobility at scale. As one of our fastest-growing markets,Kenya is playing a key role in that vision. By concentrating significant battery capacity in strategic locations, we can ensure riders have reliable access to energy around the clock, strengthen network resilience, and create the infrastructure foundation needed to support the next phase of growth in electric mobility.
Beyond strengthening energy access for riders, Bishan Mega Station contributes to Spiro’s growing green mobility footprint in Kenya. By supporting the adoption and operation of electric motorcycles at scale, the facility helps reduce dependence on fossil fuel-powered transportation and the associated carbon emissions. As part of Spiro’s network, which has already enabled more than 200 million kilometres of low-carbon travel in Kenya, the Mega Station will play an important role in accelerating the country’s transition to cleaner, more sustainable mobility.
