Safaricom Upgrade Fuliza Services to Improve Customer Experience

Safaricom has upgraded its Fuliza Services in a scheduled system upgrade that took place on Monday, 17th November 2025, between 1:00am and 2:00am. The telco said the upgrade is part of its continuous efforts to enhance system reliability and improve customer experience.

In a notice issued on Sunday, Safaricom said the upgrade is aimed at strengthening the platform to ensure it remains “always on, safe, secure, and worry-free” for millions of M-Pesa users who rely on Fuliza for seamless transactions.

During the one-hour maintenance window, Fuliza services were intermittent, though all the other M-Pesa services remained fully accessible throughout the period. In the notice released in prior, the company clarified that the timing of the upgrade, carried out during low-traffic hours, was deliberately chosen to minimize inconvenience.

“The timing of this maintenance activity has been planned to result in minimal inconvenience to our customers,” the statement read.

The telco further apologized for any disruption the exercise was envisioned to likely cause, further thanking users for their continued support as it works to improve digital financial services.

Fuliza, launched in 2019, remains one of Kenya’s most widely used mobile overdraft facilities, facilitating billions in short-term credit to users every month. The upgrade signals Safaricom’s ongoing push to bolster system stability amid rising demand for mobile lending and digital payments. At the moment, the services have resumed to normalcy.
