Rigathi Gachagua To Launch Politic Party In May

Rigathi Gachagua has delayed the announcement of his political party.

The former deputy president, Rigathi Gachagua, was impeached late last year, and since then he has vowed to remove his former boss, William Ruto, from office. Though he has not made it official, Gachagua has not revealed whether he will vie for the top seat or deputise another candidate. Last year he announced that in 2025 he and Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka would form a winning coalition. The two have been seen together since Gachagua’s impeachment and have also attended public gatherings together.

Gachagua revealed that he will launch his political party in May, as he said his reasons for postponement are due to strategic reasons: “For strategic reasons, I will not announce the party today. I will announce in May; we will launch the party in a colourful ceremony. “We know there is a plan to launch more political parties to confuse the region. We are aware that there are plans for some of these parties to have presidential candidates to divide the region. We say it during Moi time, 1992; there was Matiba, Kibaki, and Moi won. We are doing everything to identify such parties and tell our people which presidential candidates have been planted,” Gachagua said.
