Raila: “The Police Officer Who Was Knocked in Kisumu is My Grandson”

Azimio la Umoja Leader Raila Odinga has claimed that the corp killed during the latest anti-government demonstrations in Kisumu city was his grandson.

According to Azimio leader Mr Odinga, the police officer’s mother is his niece and that’s what binds that relationship that closely.

While addressing Azimio supporters on Thursday, April 13, 2023 during a meeting held at Ufangamano Hall in Nairobi, the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga added that he contributed so much in the recruitment of the said killed police officer in the police force.

The police officer who was knocked in Kisumu is my grandson, his mother is my niece. I am the one who actually recruited him to the police,” said Raila.

Several reports have it that the late officer died after being hit by a speeding police vehicle that was spotted during the process of anti-government demos.

Raila on the matter, threatened to sue all the police officers who used excessive force to injure peaceful demonstrators. According to him, there lawyers are on the process to commence the activity which he says shall reach out to the highest court in the world.

He added.

We have said as Azimio that we are going to take this matter to the highest court in the world. Our lawyers are already working on this and we are going to take the particulars of all police officers who took part in the deliberate shooting of innocent Kenyans to the court which is outside our jurisdiction.”
