Raila Calls for Order in ODM

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga has finally spoken out amid reports of a rift within the political outfit owing to the signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between him and President William Ruto that birthed the broad-based government.

In a statement released yesterday by the party, Odinga appealed to party members to uphold necessary decorum within the party when handling the party’s current affairs.

Further, he also urges the party members to exercise restraint amid speculations of a rift within ODM calling upon every member of ODM to uphold unity and commitment to the signed MoU.

His statement comes following reports of a looming fallout with Siaya Governor James Orengo who has expressed open defiance of ODM’s relationship with Kenya Kwanza

The former Prime Minister explained that he is keenly monitoring the relationship between ODM and the Kenya Kwanza administration and ways in which the stakeholders are interpreting the MoU that was signed. He also emphasized on remaining committed to honour the agreement they reached upon with the Ruto’s regime, promising to chart the way forward after harmonizing the views from the relevant organs of the party.
