President William Ruto has thrown down a political challenge to his rivals, daring them to present concrete alternative policies instead of criticizing his administration’s development record.
Speaking during the African Brotherhood Church (ABC) Women of Faith Congress at Scott Christian University in Machakos County, President Ruto defended his broad-based administration, emphasizing that national unity and equitable development remain central to his government’s agenda.
He dismissed political detractors, arguing that leadership requires actionable solutions rather than empty rhetoric.
“Durable political partnerships are built on equality, trust, and respect for institutional autonomy,” Ruto stated, reiterating that Kenyans will ultimately judge political leaders by their track records and tangible service delivery.
The president asserted that his administration’s broad-based framework marks an end to selective development and tribal divisions. He promised that infrastructure, education, and health investments would continue across all regions without political favoritism.
The head of state’s comments come amid rising political tension and early campaigning across key regions ahead of future general elections. Opposition leaders have consistently faulted the government’s economic strategies, including public healthcare transitions and tax regimes, accusing the administration of overburdening citizens.
However, President Ruto maintained that critics have failed to offer viable counter-proposals to address Kenya’s economic challenges.
In his address, Ruto reassured the nation that he remains unphased by political attacks from competitors. He reiterated his confidence in the democratic judgment of Kenyan citizens, stressing that political rhetoric cannot substitute real economic transformation and infrastructure development.
“Kenya cannot develop through discord and mischief,” the president noted, urging political leaders to prioritize national cohesion over divisive political posturing.
The president pledged that his administration would focus on executing key development projects in Ukambani and other parts of the country. Scheduled engagements, town halls, and regional inspection tours will proceed as planned as the administration seeks to solidify its public support through policy implementation.
