President William Ruto has maintained his support to the Social Health Authority program, reiterating its commitment to ensuring there’s equitable and affordable access to medical care to every Kenyan across the country.
Speaking after visiting Mkogani Sub-county Hospital in Kwale, the Head of State acknowledged the efforts made by healthcare workers including Community Health Promoters (CHPs) in ensuring SHA is effective countrywide. Ruto explained that this new care will drive Kenya towards achieving Universal Health Coverage.

Further, Ruto urged all unregistered Kenyans to join the rhythm with others who have registered, not be a part left outside as non-beneficiaries of the programe.
“We ask Kenyans to register and benefit from this transformative healthcare scheme,” said the President.
Continuing with his visit to the coastal counties, Ruto and his team led into laying the foundation stone for the X-Ray Block and officially opening the Theatre Block at the Mkogani Sub-County Hospital, Kwale County.
The President expressed belief that the facility’s upgrade from Level III to Level IV will significantly enhance access healthcare in the area, promising that his government is fully focused to transforming healthcare sector in the country.
