Homa Bay – President William Ruto begins his tour of Homa Bay County today, launching and inspecting key development projects in the lead-up to the Madaraka Day celebrations, set to take place this Sunday at the Raila Odinga Stadium.
The Head of State will start his itinerary in Ndhiwa Constituency, where he will officially launch the construction of the Gor Mahia Ring Road in Magina. He will also inaugurate the newly completed Ndhiwa Technical Training Institute (TTI) located in Kanyamwa Kologi ward, aiming to enhance technical skills and job creation in the region.
On Friday, President Ruto is scheduled to close the Blue Economy Conference at Tom Mboya University. He will then continue inspecting and commissioning various development projects across the county as part of his administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure and economic opportunities in the Nyanza region.
Ndhiwa MP Martin Owino has urged residents to turn out in large numbers to receive the President and show appreciation for the government’s development initiatives in the area. He emphasized that the visit signals a positive step toward inclusive national growth.
Meanwhile, religious leaders from the region have also expressed support for the President’s visit. Bishop Adede Ongola of Agano Ark Covenant Church commended Ruto’s continued efforts to uplift the living standards of Homa Bay residents through investment in roads, education, and other sectors.
The President’s visit sets the tone for the Madaraka Day celebrations, with expectations high that his tour will bring renewed development momentum to the lakeside county.
