Senior Economic Advisor to the President, Moses Kuria, has officially resigned from his position, bringing to a close a nearly two-and-a-half-year stint in President William Ruto’s administration.
In a statement released Monday evening on social media, Kuria said his decision had been graciously accepted by President Ruto, whom he referred to as “my boss and my friend.”
He expressed gratitude for having been entrusted with various senior roles, including Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade and Industry (11 months), Public Service, Delivery and Performance Management (9 months), and most recently, as Senior Economic Advisor for the last 10 months.

“As I move on to pursue personal interests, I am proud of the work the President and I did to implement the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda,” Kuria stated, referring to the platform that underpinned their 2022 electoral campaign.
His departure marks a significant exit from the inner circle of President Ruto’s economic team, amid ongoing efforts to navigate complex national and global financial challenges. Kuria’s next political or professional moves remain undisclosed.
