Machakos Church Raid Results In Guard’s Death

In Tala, Machakos county, a church was robbed and a night watchman was killed by a hacksaw.

During a raid on the Redeemed Gospel Church in Nguluni, Sh500,000 worth of electronic equipment was taken. According to the police, the gang broke into the facility on Saturday at around two in the morning and tied up one of the on-duty guards before entering.

They then made their way to the main office, where they intended to rob some valuables.

Feminus Makau, a 58-year-old security guard, offered resistance there, which prompted them to hack him in the brain. After that, they pulled his dead body outside and left it there.

The night guard, who was restrained in a room, had been left under the gang’s constant supervision by one of their associates.

After completing their purpose, the assailants fled through a boundary wall while leaving some of the items they had taken from the church office. Police arrived at the scene and transported the deceased to a morgue. They claimed they are questioning a suspect in connection with the crime and are looking for other people.

A woman was tragically stabbed during a robbery somewhere else in Ruaraka. A group that intended to steal the deceased’s cell phone and cash stabbed Doreen Ekesa in the neck on Sunday night. According to police and witnesses, she was with her cousin, who was able to flee the assault. When they confronted Ekesa, the police said that a group had been robbing and assaulting passersby in Kariadudu. The stabbing is thought to have been caused by her apparently refusing the gang’s orders to hand up her cash and belongings.

Ekesa was brought by locals to the nearby Hope Clinic, where she was discovered to be dead. After hearing about the incident, a mob broke out in the neighborhood, set tires on fire, and refused to let the body be taken away. The mob consented to have it taken to the mortuary following discussions with the police.

Police chief for Nairobi, Adamson Bungei, said they are looking for the group responsible for the incident. While advising individuals being attacked not to resist, he said that increased patrols have been added to the city to deal with similar situations.
