Elders from the Kapkaon Clan have endorsed Naiyanoi Ntutu, the widow of the late Johanna Ngeno, as their preferred candidate to succeed him as the next Member of Parliament for Emurua Dikirr Constituency.
The endorsement followed a consultative meeting held at Ntutu’s Mogondo home, where clan elders gathered to deliberate on the political future of the constituency after the death of the legislator.
During the meeting, the elders expressed their confidence in Naiyanoi Ntutu, saying she is best placed to continue the legacy and development agenda initiated by her late husband.According to the elders, the decision was reached after considering the need for continuity in leadership and stability within the constituency.
They noted that Ntutu had closely supported the late MP during his tenure and understands the priorities and challenges facing residents of Emurua Dikirr.Speaking after the meeting, several elders said the Kapkaon Clan believes she has the ability to unite the community and champion key development projects that were started under the leadership of the late MP.
They added that her familiarity with the constituency’s needs would help ensure that ongoing initiatives in education, infrastructure, and social welfare are not disrupted.The elders also called on residents and leaders across Emurua Dikirr to rally behind the widow, urging the community to remain united during the transition period.
They emphasized the importance of honoring the late MP’s legacy by supporting a leader who is committed to continuing his work.The late Johana Ngeno had served as the MP for Emurua Dikirr and was known for championing development initiatives and advocating for the interests of his constituents in Parliament.
His death left a leadership gap in the constituency, prompting discussions among community leaders on who should take up the mantle.With the endorsement from the Kapkaon elders, Naiyanoi Ntutu now emerges as a key figure in the expected succession battle for the parliamentary seat.
