Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has revealed many Nairobi citizens want him reelected.
Sakaja won the 2022 elections after beating Polycarp Igathe in the race for city house. Sakaja has introduced different plans in his reign so far, including feeding programs for children in school, which have so far not been implemented after parents rejected it. He has also sent out county officers to deal with clubs that bring noise pollution to residential areas. He has also several times led the county workers in efforts to clean the city.
He has also faced numerous challenges in his tenure, as he has been accused by Nairobi senator Edwin Sifuna of misusing county resources for personal gain while also harassing citizens using the county officers.
Speaking today, Sakaja revealed that he feels that many Nairobi citizens want him back during the 2027 elections.”Many people are saying that I will be reelected in 2027. The beauty of a democracy is that the people will choose at that time. I am just ticking the boxes of what we promised in the manifesto. I have never been a governor, but today I am better than yesterday, and tomorrow I will be better than today, he said.
