Gatundu Administrator Flees After Assaulting Two Minor Boys

Gatundu South – A senior administrator in Gatundu South Sub-County is evading capture after allegedly sexually assaulting two underage boys, sparking fury among locals. The assistant chief of Kamunyu sub-location, accused of attacking the minors on April 20 in his home village, fled following threats of mob justice.

One victim recounted to authorities that the administrator lured him and two friends to his homestead under the guise of delivering milk, then offered them Muratina, a potent traditional brew. After his companions left, the boy was left alone, drank the alcohol, and lost consciousness. He awoke at home disoriented, covered in mud, and bleeding. A medical exam confirmed sexual assault, prompting his family to file a report at Gatundu Police Station (OB No. 04/24/04/25).

The same night, the administrator allegedly targeted another boy at a nearby homestead, cornering him and demanding he lie on a bed. The minor resisted and fled. Both victims, now traumatized, remain indoors fearing retaliation.

Residents expressed shock, describing the accused as a once-trusted figure who studied for the priesthood. “How does a law enforcer become a predator?” asked Mary Wambui, a local parent. Families accused him of attempting to bribe them into silence, with concerns rising over possible past incidents hushed through payoffs.

Gatundu South Assistant County Commissioner Rose Chege confirmed the pursuit, stating, “Security agencies are actively tracking the suspect. Medical reports are secured, and we urge cooperation to ensure justice.” She criticized the community’s prior silence, enabling the suspect’s impunity.

Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward as the hunt intensifies. The case has reignited calls for stronger child protection measures and accountability for abuses of power.
