DP Rigathi Gachagua breaks silence over claims by opposition that Kenya Kwanza government had not won the August 2022 presidential election.
According to Rigathi Gachagua, he would be rotting in Kamiti Maximum prison had they not emerged victorious in the previous presidential elections.
His sentiments are based on the fact that, according to him, his political opponents organized a scheme to have him jailed. He said this plan was underway prior to the election day.
He further appreciated the people of Mathira, he was addressing on Friday, for showing a handful support during voting day for the Kenya Kwanza candidate who is currently the head of state; President William Ruto.
He said:
“If it were not for your votes, I would not have become the deputy president. I would have been in Kamiti cooling the porridge.”
He added:
“It would have been my fifth month as a convict. I am not sure if you would have paid me a visit.”
