Comedian Timothy “Njugush” Kimani’s two matatus have been temporarily grounded following the suspension of Super Metro Sacco’s operating license by the National Transport Safety Authority (NTSA).
Njugush and his wife, Celestine Ndinda, recently expanded their matatu business, naming their vehicles “Tugi” (after their firstborn) and “Toria” (after their second son). These matatus operate under the Super Metro Sacco, serving the Nairobi-Kitengela route.
The NTSA suspended Super Metro Sacco’s license due to numerous traffic violations, including:
15 vehicles operating with expired permits.
109 drivers exceeding speed limits.
However the sacco has disputed the ban stating that NTSA ban is not valid and that they have compliedwith all the authority guidelines.
