Uber and Bolt To Resume Services in Tanzania Following Discussions.

After weeks of debate over the fate of the two companies, Tanzania’s government has declared the continuation of Uber and Bolt ride-hailing services.

After the government’s regulatory changes were implemented in March, Uber stopped their services in April, whilst Bolt decided to shift to only-corporate clients in August.

Habibu Suluo, director of Tanzania’s transport regulatory authority (Latra), said on Monday that the companies’ problems had been resolved following a meeting with the government.

“We met with both companies on September 5-6, where we spoke with their Africa representative, and the two parties agreed to resume services,” he said.

He stated that the agreement benefited both companies and members of Tanzania’s online taxi drivers’ association.
