Raila Odinga Discusses His Retirement And Requests His Supporters To Maintain Calm.

Raila Amolo Odinga, leader of the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance, has encouraged his supporters to be patient with him.

On Friday, October 28 in Siaya County, the former premier told his followers that he had decided to go silent in order to consider his next steps.

He urged his critics not to speculate on his retirement, emphasizing that he would leave politics when the time was right.

“When the time comes for me to leave politics, I will do it quietly.” There should be no debate on the subject. “Our attention should now be on improving our country’s politics so that democracy can thrive,” Raila remarked.

The ODM leader added that he will drop a bombshell that would significantly alter Kenyan politics and said that he had not given up fighting for Kenyans.

“Never give up. Be resilient since I’m still not exhausted. Should I quit or keep going? When the moment is appropriate, I will offer instructions on the course that we should take. We want to modify things for our people moving forward so that Kenyans can live comfortably. That is the essence of service to the country, he said.

He also refuted claims that he was using his political pronouncements and quiet for personal advantage, noting that his main objective was to raise Kenyans’ standards of living.

“It’s not up to Raila or Ida to benefit from it. Life will continue even if we remain in this situation. So, our actions are not solely motivated by a desire to obtain something. We need to see change,” Raila argued in defense.

Hours after entering the nation again, he expressed these thoughts. For a one-week trip, Raila had taken a plane to India.
