President Ruto Officially Opens Ksh 9.6 Billion Bunge Towers

President William Ruto has inaugurated the Bunge Towers today, a remarkable tower that has costed taxpayers a whopping Ksh. 9.6 billion.

This towering structure, standing at 28 stories, is designed to cater to the luxurious needs of Kenyan legislators. The building is equipped with lavish amenities such as a gym, a beauty parlor, and a restaurant, offering a comfortable and convenient environment for the lawmakers.

The building boasts ample parking, with four basement floors accommodating up to 350 vehicles. Despite the 349 members in the National Assembly, only 280 will be granted offices in the new establishment, aligning with the equitable distribution of office spaces as designated for the House.

Initially scheduled for last week, the launch was delayed due to the passing of Chief of Defense Forces General Francis Ogolla. This timing coincides with increasing criticism against Kenyan legislators and leaders for their perceived lack of proactive measures in addressing the ongoing flood crisis in Nairobi and other parts of the country. .

In light of this development, the grand opening of the Bunge Towers may spark further debate regarding the allocation of resources and priorities among Kenya’s political elite, amid pressing national concerns such as flood management and disaster response.
