At least 15 people have perished in a fatal road accident at Twin Bridge, Mau Summit, along the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway.
According to a report by the National Police Service, a bus and a matatu collided at Twin Bridge, killing 15 people and injuring many others on January 9, 2024. The accident happened around 2:45 a.m. and involved a Classic Kings of Congo bus and a North Ways Shuttle Matatu. Police officers from Mau Summit Police Station responded to the scene and took the injured to Molo Sub-County Hospital.
The National Police Service has, however, appealed to all drivers to be careful on the roads and avoid road crashes. According to the World Health Organization, road traffic crashes are among the leading causes of death globally and cost countries 3% of their annual gross domestic product.
