Martha Karua Calls Out President Ruto For Relaunching Road Project

President William Ruto has been on the spot after Kenyans bursted him launching a Nyandarua road for the second time.

Now the Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua has called out the President saying he is duping Kenyans that he was commissioning the Nyandarua road that he already commissioned five years ago during his tenure in President Uhuru’s regime.

Ruto had tweeted on 6th April,2023 that he had launched the tarmacking of the road.

“Earlier launched the tarmacking of the 55km captain- Ndemi-Wanjohi-Kwa Matu-Geta-Kahuruko-Ndunyu Njeru and addressed wananchi at the Ndunyu Njeru trading centre at Ol Kalou town,” Ruto’s Thursday, April 6, 2023 tweet read.

Karua in a tweet shared on 8th April, 2023 dismissed the President’s self defence for launching the same project two times.

“Nothing can excuse the deceptive launching of an already launched project. If at all it was in good faith , the second launch should have acknowledged first upfront not wait to give lame excuses after being outed! The truth will always out,” she wrote.

After criticism, Ruto through the state house spokesperson Hussein Mohammed defended himself saying that he had already kick-started the project when he was the Deputy President but was denied funds by President Uhuru’s Government to frustrate his bid for presidency.

“During last year’s election campaigns, President Ruto promised to complete all stalled projects, including roads. During the ‘Handshake’ (2018-2022), many projects he launched were deliberately denied funding even though they were in the government’s programme. This was to frustrate the then Deputy President and his bid for the presidency.”

“But the President is and will clean up the mess. He promised to complete all stalled projects before embarking on new ones. This is the President fulfilling his pledges,” he stated through State House spokesperson Hussein Mohammed.
