Ruto: The Government Will Pay Out County Funds On Time

President William Ruto has stated that the government will make timely distributions of county funds. According to Ruto, the move will hasten devolution and improve service delivery.

“There is evidence that devolution has resulted in transformation, and as such, we must support counties,” he said.

Ruto also stated that the devolved units of government are at the heart of Kenya’s development, promising to work closely with counties.

“I intend to expand our collaboration, particularly in agriculture, security, health, and housing,” he said.

In Naivasha, Kenya, he addressed at the 9th National and County Coordinating Summit. They also discussed devolution of resources and constitutional issues at the conference.

Critical bills affecting county governments, audit reports, and court cases involving the two levels of government were also covered. Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula, Speaker of the Senate Amason Kingi, and Attorney General Justin Muturi were also in attendance during the summit.
